Starlight Dance Academy - Summer Programs & Camps

Starlight Dance Academy, located on Route 910 in Cheswick, Pennsylvania (PA) serves the areas near Fox Chapel, Oakmont and Harmar
north east of Pittsburgh. The studio offers dance classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Hip Hop, Pointe, Tumbling, Fitness and Zumba
for children and adults. Dance classes are offered for pre-school children as young as age two as well as for school age children, teens and
adults. We aim to provide excellent dance instruction in a caring and supportive environment. Our positive, nurturing atmosphere allows every
child to shine.

Last Years Summer Programs - July 2009

During the summer, we offer several exciting dance camps. Each week-long camp includes fitness, dance,
crafts, games and more with a different dance theme.

We also offer Tiny Tutus and First 4 during the summer for our toddler and pre-school students, as well as
Dance Intensives for older students. As always, private lessons are available for any age student in the
discipline of your choosing.

Back by popular demand!
Cinderella, Belle, Snow White and the like will enjoy
dancing, songs and stories. Learn to dance and
behave like a Princess. Make crafts fit for royalty.

A combination class consisting of Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Fitness
movements. First 4 is designed to provide pre-school students (ages 3-5)
with a foundation for all dance subjects. Ballet teaches poise and
gracefulness while Tap develops rhythm and counting skills. Jazz and
Fitness build strength, flexibility and coordination.

Cost $45

A special 30-minute class designed to expose two-and three-year-olds
to dance and the classroom. Tiny Tutus focuses on coordination,
following directions, movement and stretching. Basic Ballet is also
introduced. Music and pretend allow your child to develop creativity
while improving balance and gross motor skills. This class is designed
for independent toddlers who can remain in the classroom without a
parent or care-giver.

Leaps & Turns #1    Age 8-11     Tuesdays 6:30-7:30PM     July 7-28

A challenging workshop for the serious dancer, this class will focus on improving technique and
execution of all leaps and turns.

Musical Theater     Age 8-18     Tuesday 7:30-9:00     July 7-28
Do you love to perform? Can’t watch enough musicals? Enjoy learning Broadway-style Jazz
technique and choreography. A complete Musical Theater dance routine will be taught each week.

Fitness & Flexibility #1     Age 8-11     Thursday 6:30-7:30     July 9-30
Fitness & Flexibility #2     Age 12-18     Thursday 6:30-7:30     July 9-30
This intensive class will concentrate on improving the strength and flexibility of advanced
dancers. Each week will focus on exercises and stretches designed to target muscle groups used
specifically in dance.

Kick Line     Age 8-18     Thursday 7:30-9:00     July 9-30
Want to be a Rockette? Love watching Dance Teams? Then this workshop is for you! Learn the
basic elements of kicklines and precision work.

Available to all ages and abilities. Private lessons are tailored to the
individual student and can be scheduled in any subject.
Cost: $20 per half-hour lesson Summer Special: 10 lessons for $175

BASIC SUMMER INFORMATION
All classes and camps are taught by professional dance teachers. All teachers have Act 33
and 34 clearances, and are professional adult artists with college and/or professional training and performing experience.

Space is limited in all programs, so please register early! Registration deadline is June 22, 2009. Registrations received after
June 22, 2009 are subject to a $10.00 late registration fee. Minimum enrollment is required for each program to be held.

All programs require full tuition at the time of registration. Cancellations made before June 22, 2009 will receive a refund
minus a 20% cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after June 22, 2009. If we cancel a program due to
insufficient registration, you will receive a complete refund.

Snacks will be served at Mermaid, Princess and Zoo camps. If your child has food allergies, please send a snack from home.

Dancers attending Princess, Zoo and Mermaid camps must be bathroom independent.

Tiny Tutus: leotard, tights, pink leather Ballet shoes
First 4: leotard, tights, pink leather Ballet shoes, black Tap shoes
Enchanted Mermaid Camp: leotard, tights, pink leather Ballet shoes
Dancing Princess Camp: leotard, tights, pink leather Ballet shoes
Dancing Zoo Camp: Girls = leotard, tights, pink leather Ballet shoes
Dancing Zoo Camp: Boys = fitted t-shirt and shorts, black leather Ballet shoes
Leaps & Turns Intensive: leotard, tights, Jazz or Lyrical shoes
Fitness & Flexibility Intensive: leotard, tights, bare feet
Kickline Intensive: leotard, tights, Jazz or Character shoes
Musical Theater Intensive: leotard, tights, Jazz or Character shoes

All hair must be pulled up off the face and neck.
Jewelry is not permitted except for small stud earrings (no hoops).
Please label all personal belongings. Starlight Dance Academy is not responsible for lost articles.
